Just wanted you all to know how sorry we are for your loss. Looking back I realize Ive had the honor of knowing Mel for 40+ years and I'm a better person for it. I'm sure Mel and my dad are once again together chasing the turkey and deer around Port Allegany like they always did

he will never have to feel those emotions again. I was very close with him and will miss him everyday, but I know I will meet up with him again someday, so save me a spot up there grandpa.
Love ur granddaughter
I personally wanted to thank everyone who had us in their prayers and who made these past 5 days as easy for us as they could be. It is amazing to me that so many people thought so highly of my grandfather and my family. For all of you who were kind enough to send food and when i say food i mean a ton of it.LOL I think we all gained 5 pounds, but it is very nice not to have to worry about feeding that many people for that many days. As most of you know my grandfather had a very hard upbringing, but came out of that knowing that that was no way to treat his own children and grandchildren. My grandpa was a very loving man who i was very close to and will miss everyday for the rest of my life. I will miss the stories, the kindness of his heart, and especially when he would drive past my house everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times and beeped. I guess that was his way of telling me that hi and that he was thinking about me. After seeing him this last year struggling with his memory and getting more and more frustrated,I am at peace with his death because I know
Sharon & Lori, we will miss seeing your Dads car driving by with his smiling face. and I (kathy) will also miss his visits to the bank you could always count on him to brighten your day.
Our deepest condolonces at this time of loss to your whole family
